The parish of Clarendon is divided into nine (9) health districts and comprising of 31 health centres (nine (9) Type 3, ten (10) Type 2, twelve (12) Type 1). Each health district has a Type 3 full service health centre with curative, maternal and child, dental, mental and environmental services.
There are also three (3) hospitals (one (1) Type B -- May Pen; one (1) Type C -- Lionel Town and one (1) Community Hospital -- Chapleton). The major towns are May Pen, Lionel Town, Chapleton and Spalding.
The population of the parish is 243,214 (STATIN). Unofficial estimates suggest that this could now be over 260,000.
